July 24 Deadline • Maryland Department of Labor Family and Medical Leave Insurance Division Seeks Feedback on Draft Regulations for FAMLI Program
On January 29, we had representatives from the Department of Labor join us at the Hyatt to describe the Family and Medical Leave Insurance program and take questions from those in attendance. The Maryland Department of Labor Family and Medical Leave Insurance Division released their updated draft regulations for the FAMLI program on Wednesday July 10th. This is not the formal regulatory process but an informal feedback process for the department to address as many issues as they can ahead of submitting regulations to the Maryland Register. If you are able, please review the regulations and provide feedback directly to DOL at FAMLI.policy@maryland.gov or communicate your feedback to Amy at amy@oceancity.org, as she is partnering with other organizations across the state to ensure the voice of business is heard on this new program.

Worcester Goes Purple Seeks OC Bars/Restaurants to Participate in New Initiative "Arrive Alive - Get A Free Ride"
This initiative partners with Ocean City restaurants and bars to give away free OC Bus Tickets to patrons who shouldn't drive and get them home safely. With the program, the establishment will receive a window cling to display their participation, free bus tickets, drink coasters with the logo, and signs to display in restrooms letting people know to ask for a bus ticket from the bar.
