Offshore Wind Updates

Offshore Wind Updates
Local Effort
The Save OC Committee has created a new website, SaveOceanCity.org to generate awareness and requests that you join the movement to protect Ocean City, MD from ocean industrialization. Offshore wind turbines would permanently alter our sunrise and coastal view, disturb precious wildlife, pollute our ocean, and do little to lower electric rates. Read SaveOceanCity’s press release and learn more about how you can help.

Federal Update
The latest news from the Department of Interior’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) is surprising and warrants everyone’s attention! BOEM recently opened a second lease area, approximately 3.5 miles off the coast of NJ, DE, MD, VA & NC. Read about this on the BOEM site.

TAKE ACTION & MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!!! Register to attend a Zoom meeting and mark your calendar to attend the Ocean City in-person meeting on Tuesday, September 24 from 5-7:30pm!
